Mini-dragon surfaces from the abyss

Biologists from Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institution, Florida, have discovered a new species of rare deep-sea dragonfish. The new species,
Eustomias jimcraddocki, is the size of a hot dog and was discovered in the North Atlnatic.

'The fact that we still discover new deep-sea species in one of the best studied basins tells us how little we know about this realm' says Dr. Tracy Sutton.

Dragon fish are extremely ellusive and inhabit depth of 200-1000m. Their distinguishing feature is the bioluminescent barb on their lower jaw, used to attract mates and prey in the dark waters which they inhabit.
